Torbay is comprised of three towns, Torquay at the northern end of the bay, Brixham at the southern end and Paignton in the middle. Torbay has an unspoilt coastline offering some breath-taking views and along its 22 mile stretch there are over 20 beaches and secluded coves to explore. This is a 400 million year old landscape of international geological significance so it’s no wonder the English Riviera has UNESCO Geopark status. The area has one of the most important Stone Age sites in Europe, maritime history, award winning public parks and gardens, Victorian architectural history and literary history as the birthplace of Agatha Christie. There’s something for everyone on the English Riviera and in the surrounding areas and it’s not just a summer destination, the mild climate makes the English Riviera perfect for a relaxing break at any time of year. Heathcliff House in Torquay is the ideal base for exploring and discovering all that South Devon has to offer.
