Welcome to your home from home on the English Riviera
Arrive as guests, leave as friends
We have been the proud owners Heathcliff House since March 2016. Our home is an historic Victorian villa built in 1860 and is spread over three floors. Due to its age there are no lifts at Heathcliff House.
Once a Vicarage, it was a favourite place for Agatha Christie to come for afternoon tea with her family. If you want to find out more about our home's connections to Agatha Christie then click through to the Agatha Christie pages on the right hand side of this and other pages on our website. Heathcliff House has been operating as a B&B for around 30 years.
There are currently 8 letting rooms arranged over two floors. The first floor has seven guest bedrooms, the ground floor has one guest bedroom and the airy and comfortable lounge bar which supplies a range of local beers and ciders, and a generous gin selection.
The basement level comprises the kitchen and our spacious breakfast room where you will enjoy a relaxed award winning breakfast from our extensive menu. Your choice of hot food is cooked to order using fresh local produce. The full Heathcliff is not for the faint-hearted.
Heathcliff House is lucky to benefit from a good sized car park which provides one parking space per guest room - as long as everybody parks sensibly! Not many B&Bs in Torquay can provide this FREE facility.
We are ideally located and the perfect base to explore all that the English Riviera and South Devon has to offer. This includes stunning award winning beaches, 16 National Trust properties and gardens, rugged and beautiful Dartmoor, and the South West Coast Path to name but a few of the many and varied things to do in this most beautiful of counties.
